Reflecting on an Unforgettable Honor at the University of Arkansas

What a whirlwind the past few weeks have been for me! From speaking at the University of Arkansas to traveling to see our partners in Japan to meeting with my peer group.

Each moment has been a treasure, and I want to remember every detail of the events surrounding my honor as the Outstanding Alumna of the University of Arkansas Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food, and Life Sciences. The recognition is not just a personal milestone but a celebration of my journey and the support I've received along the way.

The staff of the College and the Ag Econ Department, where I once studied, truly outdid themselves. Their efforts made me and my family feel incredibly special, not just on the day of Commencement, but in the days leading up to it as well. The warmth, hospitality, and genuine care they showed us turned this honor into a deeply personal and memorable experience.

Being chosen as the keynote speaker for the Bumpers College ceremony was an immense privilege. As I stood before the graduates, faculty, and families, I felt the weight of the moment. It was the most challenging speaking engagement I have ever undertaken. I wanted my words to resonate with the graduates, to inspire and encourage them as they embark on their own journeys. The pressure was immense, but as I delivered my speech, I felt a profound connection with the audience. It was a moment of vulnerability and strength, one that I will carry with me forever.

Reflecting on my time at the University of Arkansas, I am filled with gratitude. The education I received and the relationships I built here have been foundational to my career and personal growth. This honor is a testament to the incredible support system that has surrounded me, both during my time as a student and in the years since.

As I move forward, I carry with me the lessons learned and the memories made at the University of Arkansas. I am deeply thankful for this recognition and the opportunity to share my journey with the next generation of agricultural leaders. Here's to celebrating our past achievements and looking forward to the bright future ahead."
